Why here, not somewhere else

Every provider says they’re supportive. Here’s our evidence.

If you’re an Advanced practitioner, you’ve seen exactly what churn does to a caseload, a team, and a career. We don’t ask you to take culture claims on faith. Each of these comes with proof you can check before you apply.

You’ll stay, and so will the team around you

High turnover doesn’t just hurt participants; it strands practitioners without stable supervision or peers. Our practitioners typically stay two to four years, which means the team you lead (and the practitioners you supervise) will still be here next year, and so will the supervision relationships you build.

Work where the field learns

Practitioners at other providers read our publication and attend our professional development webinars. At Advanced level, you don’t just benefit from that machine, you help drive it: our internal training program is run by Advanced practitioners and our clinical training team, and our senior clinicians shape the writing, PD and events the whole sector follows.

The most complex work, without an overloaded caseload

Advanced means the field’s hardest problems: highly complex presentations, interdisciplinary contexts, and practice leadership across settings. It does not mean simply more casework. We publish our wait times publicly rather than overloading the practitioners we have. That discipline is what protects your caseload, and your clinical standards.

Real employment, not a contractor gamble

Ads promising higher starting rates, no KPIs and “work your own hours” usually mean contracting. No leave, no super guarantee, personal liability, and no team when things get hard. Every Insight PBS practitioner is a full-time employee with the full safety net.

The role

What you’ll actually do

You’ll deliver Positive Behaviour Support in the most complex contexts we work in, from early childhood through to older adults. You’ll be improving quality of life, reducing behaviours of concern, and working towards the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices. As an Advanced practitioner, you’ll also carry practice leadership: supervising practitioners at all levels, leading internal training, and shaping how PBS is done across the organisation.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive assessments and behaviour support plans for participants with highly complex presentations, synthesising information from a wide range of sources
  • Apply high-level critical thinking and analysis to make effective decisions in complex situations, including interdisciplinary and multi-service contexts
  • Provide practice leadership across settings and stakeholder interactions, including chairing complex care team meetings, case conferences and practice forums
  • Supervise practitioners at all levels, reviewing and co-authorising plans and guiding Core and Proficient colleagues as they progress
  • Help deliver our internal training program, which is run by Advanced practitioners and our clinical training team
  • Use advanced data analysis to monitor outcomes, identify service-wide challenges and implement solutions
  • Shape strategic thinking in PBS and contribute to system change that enhances the rights of people with disability
  • Maintain reflective practice, participating in supervision yourself, including peer supervision with other Advanced practitioners

What you’ll need

  • Assessment as Advanced under the NDIS Commission PBS Capability Framework
  • Extensive experience delivering Positive Behaviour Support, including complex cases and restrictive practice contexts
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Occupational Therapy, Developmental Education, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Nursing, Health Science, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counselling, or another NDIS-recognised qualification
  • Demonstrated skills in supervising and mentoring other practitioners
  • High-level analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate behaviour support plans and clinical data across a service, not just a caseload
  • Leadership in team settings, such as running case conferences, practice forums or service improvement projects
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and sound computer literacy

Proficient

Independent practice across a broader caseload, including participants with restrictive practices in place, plus guidance of Core practitioners.

You are here

Advanced

The most complex presentations, supervision of practitioners at all levels, and practice leadership across the organisation.

Specialist

All the qualities of Advanced, plus a recognised area of expertise such as trauma, forensic work or dual diagnosis.
